During March 2021, in BETS and BETS “Electric Power” of UEEX, 103 trading sessions were held. There were also daily trading sessions on the short-term natural gas market. In general per month, different types of energy resources were sold for a total amount of UAH 14.67 bln., that is 3 times more, than in March 2020.
Most of the sales volumes, as well as the largest increase in volumes, were referred to two main areas of UEEX’s activity - Natural Gas and Electricity, which grew by 281% and 261%, respectively, compared to March of last year.
"The Ukrainian Energy Exchange is actively investing efforts to provide energy market participants with exchange products that will best meet their needs. One such example is the launch of natural gas trading in UGS, which is implemented in cooperation with the gas storage operator JSC "Ukrtransgaz". The growth of sales volumes in March demonstrates the high interest and need for a safe, reliable platform where the market value for energy resources is formed, which corresponds to the economic situation today," commented Oleksandr Kovalenko, CEO of UEEX.
