Forestry enterprises from 9 regions of Ukraine sold untreated timber at the Ukrainian Energy Exchange. The largest volume was sold in Volyn region.

The following results were achieved during the week at the UEEX untreated timber auction:

  • the exhibited volume of untreated timber amounted to 47.60 thousand cubic meters;
  • 11.38 thousand cubic meters of untreated timber were sold;
  • the cost of timber sales amounted to UAH 29.01 million (including VAT);
  • the state received additional income during the English auction by UAH 784.57 thousand (including VAT) more than the initial value of untreated timber put up for auction.

Last week, untreated timber was sold in Volyn, Khmelnytsky, Chernivtsi, Ternopil, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Vinnytsia, Kyiv and Kirovohrad regions.

Pine, hardwood and coniferous trees were sold the most, with their share of sales in the overall structure amounting to 29.80%, 15.25% and 11.42%, respectively. We also sold such species as oak, hornbeam, spruce, birch, beech and others.

The maximum increase from the starting price was recorded at 29%. Given that the auction step is 1%, the maximum number of steps was 29 for birch, 26 for pine, and 23 for oak.

Pine showed the biggest upward trend among round timber price indices, with a 22% increase and a price of UAH 2,941.26 per cubic meter including VAT.

In turn, the maximum decline was observed for spruce. The weighted average price index amounted to UAH 2,329.38 per cubic meter including VAT, which is 25% less than last week.

The price index for industrial wood rose the most, reaching UAH 1,312.19 per cubic meter including VAT, up 2% year-on-year.

Among all types of firewood, the cost of firewood of the third group has decreased the most, and now amounts to UAH 600.00 per cubic meter including VAT, which is 48% less than the previous figure.
