Last month, PP BETS held 21 trading sessions for the purchase and sale of natural gas on the medium and long-term market, and 4 trading sessions each day on the short-term market.
200 starting positions were formed in the PP BETS trading platform for September, October and November 2024, in the GTS and UGS. In total, 378.94 million cubic meters of natural gas were sold on the medium- and long-term market, which is 5.5 times more than in the previous month. On the short-term market, 2.95 million cubic meters of natural gas were sold, which is 3.2 times more than in the previous month.
On the medium- and long-term market in August, the price of sold positions was in the range of UAH 13950-15160 excluding VAT. Prices fluctuated with an upward trend by the end of the month. The initiators of the auctions formed the starting positions overwhelmingly for purchase.
On the short-term market, prices fluctuated daily in the range of UAH 14187.47-14470.01 excluding VAT during the month. SC Gas of Ukraine formed bids for the sale of natural gas in this segment as part of gas sales under production sharing agreements.
“Last month, trading in natural gas at the UEEX was more active than in previous periods, both on the medium and short-term markets. Last month, the companies that initiated trades mostly purchased gas from UGS facilities, while production companies increased their sales at the exchange. We continue to service the natural gas trade at a consistently high level,” said O. Kovalenko, CEO of UEEX.
