Today, on July 2, within the framework of the new electricity market model, a competitive auction for the sale of electricity under bilateral contracts was held. The final sale price of "off-peak electricity" (consumption at night) decreased compared to the starting price.

Sellers at the auction were SE "Kalutska TPP-NOVA", PJSC "Centrenergo", and LLC "Kremenchuk TPP".

As a result of the auction, 87 lots of "off-peak electric power" were sold with the period of supply from 04.07.2019 to 31.07.2019. The weighted average price of electricity was 1069.77 UAH per MWh, which is 3% lower than the starting price. The total sales volume amounted to 34 622 040 UAH. During the auction, the starting price of electricity decreased from 1103 UAH per MWh to a minimum value of 1040 UAH per MWh.

Thus, the new competitive model of the electricity market proves its advantages for consumers.

Recall, according to the order of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine № 270, the Ukrainian Energy Exchange was appointed as the organizer of electronic auctions for the sale of electric power under bilateral contracts.

FYI. In the day-ahead market, which is a key segment of the new electricity market, NKREKP has set a price limit for the sale of "off-peak electricity" in the amount of 0.96 UAH per kWh.
