On February 19, during night hours an auction for the sale of electricity was held at the Ukrainian Energy Exchange, the initiator was Energoatom-Trading SE NNEGC Energoatom, having sold 49,540 MWh. The total cost of sold electricity amounted to UAH 45.1 million.
At the auction, 2 items were put up, for the first item 74,100 MWh, for the second 64,800 MWh, the period for the supply of electricity was determined from March 1 to March 31, 2021. The total volume of electricity exposed to SS Energoatom Trading by SE NNEGC Energoatom amounted to 138,900 MWh. As a result of the auction, about 36% of the set volume was sold. In total, 20 agreements were signed and 5 winners were determined.
The weighted average price for the first block position 1-7 hours, 24-24 hours, all days formed at the level of 911.15 UAH / MWh, for the second position the weighted average price 1 a.m.-7 a.m., all days amounted to 908.90 UAH / MWh, which is 26% lower than the starting price.
On February 22, a successful bidding was held for the positions of the SE "Guaranteed Buyer", which sold the entire exposed volume. 21 items were offered for the auction, with the delivery period from 1 to 31 March 2021. The total amount of electricity offered by the State Enterprise "Guaranteed Buyer" was 138,780 MWh. The weighted average price of the base load formed at the level of UAH 1,451.01 / MWh.
For block items, the weighted average prices were formed in this way in accordance with the delivery hours: 8 a.m.-6 p.m., all days 1618.61 UAH / MWh; 9 a.m.-5 p.m., all days 1538.08 UAH / MWh; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. all days 1506.30 UAH / MWh. In total, 23 deals were concluded and 12 winners were determined.
“The high level of competition is able to ensure the most fair prices, which is an indicator of trust to the process of electronic auctions and in the exchange as a whole,” - commented Oleksandr Kovalenko, CEO of UEEX.
